Nicole Dowgos,

DVM
Role: Senior Veterinarian, Anesthesia Department: Anesthesia & Pain Management

Dr. Nicole Dowgos grew up in a small town in rural Delaware. After attending the University of Delaware and taking the necessary pre-veterinary prerequisites, she earned her DVM degree at the University of Georgia in 2020. She had a keen interest in analgesia, physiology, and critical case management which lead her to pursue a career in anesthesia. A one year rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington D.C. was followed by a residency in anesthesia and analgesia, which she completed at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Dr. Dowgos is ecstatic to be joining the veterinary team at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center and cannot wait to provide personalized anesthetic and analgesic care to the animals of NYC and beyond.

When not at work, you can often find Dr. Dowgos at the dog park with her black lab, Lucy, or attempting to walk (or rather be walked by) her mischievous tortie cat, Freya. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, and running!
