Licensed Veterinary Technician

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technician support for outpatient clinics
  • Provide in-patient nursing care and medication administration
  • Perform anesthesia and monitor recovery of post-operative patients
  • Blood withdrawal, catheter placement and sample submission
  • Restraint, grooming and general patient care
  • Client communication with diligent record keeping
  • Maintenance of specialized care suites and equipment


  • NYS veterinary technician/license permit or eligibility
  • Must have at least 2 years experience working in a high volume, fast-paced multi-department animal hospital, including anesthesia experience
  • Must be able to work with and handle all species
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs as well as spend prolonged periods of time, squatting, kneeling or standing
  • Must be able to work successfully as part of a team, as well as independently and remain composed in emergency situations
  • Must be flexible about working additional hours when necessary
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with clients, technicians, veterinarians, and vendors


  • Sunday-Wednesday, 9am-6:30pm
