Emergency & Critical Care

The Animal Medical Center maintains a state-of-the-art facility to provide compassionate and expert care for pets that need emergency and critical assistance. Additionally, the Animal Medical Center is a provisional veterinary trauma center, staffed and equipped to manage life-threatening traumatic injuries. Our emergency room is staffed by experienced veterinarians with specialty training in emergency medicine, and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In partnership with the emergency room, our ICU is staffed by criticalists certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, residents in training and dedicated nurses, several of whom are also certified in veterinary emergency and critical care. Our team of clinicians works together with allied specialists and referring veterinarians to provide the highest standard of care to our sickest patients. The ICU is staffed 24 hours a day with an expert doctor. Because we never close, we are able to provide round-the-clock monitoring and treatment of critically ill pets.
